The Exhibition Rooms

The exhibition Reminiscences in the Alexander Palace was planned to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the palace in 1996. The following year it opened in the former private apartments of the last imperial family in the East Wing (Nicholas and Alexandra's Rooms). Since 2012, the exhibition also includes the restored Suite of State Rooms.

The dusplay set out in the former rooms of Empress Alexandra Fiodorovna (which you can browse at right under Exhibition Rooms) is devoted to the history and unique art collections of the palace. Most of the interiors were lost during the Second World War, but three of them – the Reception Room, State Study and Corner Drawing-Room – have been restored in Nicholas II’s (right-hand) and Alexandra’s (left-hand) suites of rooms and are now part of the display.
